Bonding in Fleet Street

If you are a fan of Ian Fleming and James Bond, make sure you visit El Vino on Fleet Street. It’s a marvelous edtablishmebt which harks back to times past.

One can just imagine Ian Fleming here in the early 1960’s, enjoying a few glasses of good wine and puffing on his cigarette holder over a copy of the Times newspaper.

Fleming visited here often as it was literally next door to his Mitre Court office. The famous Playboy interview with Ian was partly conducted here too.

El Vino has several venues in London. The Fleet Street premises shown here (their flagship) has a lovely bar and dining room with very welcoming service.

It’s only open on weekdays but it’s worth the detour.

A real gem.
